Francesco Tisato graduated in Electronic Engineering at Milan Polytechnic in 1969. Since then he worked in the areas of operating systems, software design methodologies and software architectures. His current interests include software architectures for real-time systems (video-based surveillance, traffic control, sensor/RFID networks) and for adaptive systems. In particular, he is focusing on the definition of architectural abstractions aimed at capturing the concepts of time, space and reflection. He was local coordinator of several EC projects (Escort, OMI/CORE, OMI/MODES, MAIN-E) and of other projects funded by the Italian Ministry of Research (MAIS, InSyEme). His teaching activity includes courses on operating systems, programming, design methodologies and software architectures.
